an open house at the YMCA allowed the
public to get a taste of what is offered at
the facility.
“This was our 4th Annual Fall Fest and
5k Run it has slowly been growing which
is good, just a fun family event, people
can come in and swim, paint pumpkins,
do face painting, we have the bounce
houses and obstacle course, of course,
the 5k run and family fun walk to start
it off, said Tyler McDade, the Executive
Director for the YMCA. “This year we’ve
added a little twist to it, we had some
folks out on the trail that are dressed
up in Halloween costumes and passing
candy out.”
Kids take off on the youth 1-mile run at the ahead of the YMCA’s Fall Festival. Over 115 participants of all ages and

ing the event even more fun. The 5k race
was timed by Muskingum Multisports.
Runner Brian Hall (40) of Zanesville took
first place with a chip time of 21:21.5. J.
Pickrell (11) of Dresden came in second,
and John DalPonte (52) of Zanesville
claimed third. The top female finisher
was Leikyn DalPonte (25) of Zanesville
who placed seventh overall with her
time of 27:24.8.
