Tri-Valley girls basketball fell to Unioto at Windland Stadium to
end season with 21 - 4 record by Matthew Dotson
Vs Unioto (2/22)
The neutral site for Saturday’s game against Unioto
was Zanesville High School’s Winland Stadium. Tri-
Valley started off in a frenzy, keeping the Shermans
guessing while they took the first quarter 19 – 12.
Unito was paying attention and doubled their efforts
to close the score margin, and not only did they close
the gap, but they took a two-point 34 – 32 lead into
the halftime break.
As the game continued, the two teams were hard
at battle as they transferred the lead at least eight
times in the third quarter, with the Scotties finally get-
ting the 48 – 46 advantage to end the period. With a
blast of scoring from Unioto’s Milee Smith, the Sher-
mans not only tied up the game but they blasted into
overdrive to take the game and close down the Scot-
tie’s season with a 66 – 56 win.
Maddie Garber was the top Dawg on the score-
board with 16 points, Mackenzie Harvey had 15
points, Jacie Rollison had nine points, Annika Collet
had seven points, Emma Smith had five, and Addison
Wilson had four points.
The Lady Dawgs ended their season with a 21 – 4
record and the MVL Big School Division Title.
Vs Steubenville (2/19)
Cambridge High School hosted the Lady Dawgs and
the Big Red on Wednesday night. The Lady Dawgs
took to the court and started to dominate the game
early on, taking an 8 – 4 lead at the end of the first
frame. As the game progressed, so did the Scotties’
lead, with the girls building up defensive pressure on
the Big Reds, finishing off the first half of the game
with a 20 – 12 lead.
Coach Kaufman’s speech during the break drove
the girls to up the level on their defenses, completely
shutting out the Big Red in the third quarter to end
the period up 37 – 12. The final minutes of the game
saw Steubenville only land three more points as Tri-
Valley finished strong with a 43 – 15 win.
Mackenzie Harvey was the top scorer for the Lady
Dawgs with 11 points, Emma Smith had nine points,
Maddie Garber had six, Jacie Rollison also had six,
Annika Collet had five, Reese Lamonica had four, and
Addison Wilson had two.
Tri-Valley’s Mackenzie Harvey makes a quick stop for a two-pointer against Unioto in their District Title playoff. Matthew Dotson
