        Maysville football warming up hoping for a W on the

                                                                                                                          As the  football  teams in the  area
                                                                                                                      all get their heads together to see how
                                                                                                                      the season will shake out, one team in
                                                                                                                      Muskingum County in particular is hop-
                                                                                                                      ing  to hit the  win  bracket more often
                                                                                                                      than not.  The Maysville Panthers com-
                                                                                                                      ing off of a less-than-stellar 4 – 6 overall
                                                                                                                      season with a 2 – 3 record in the MVL is
                                                                                                                      definitely hoping to improve those num-
                                                                                                                      bers in the coming weeks.
                                                                                                                          With today  as  the opening  game
                                                                                                                      day, they want  to start with the  Lil’
                                                                                                                      Muskies as they travel out to New Con-
                                                                                                                      cord they would like nothing more than
                                                                                                                      to show up and show out on the field.
                                                                                                                      They beat John  Glenn  last year  on  the
                                                                                                                      same field so it is not out of reach and it
                                                                                                                      would definitely set the right note for the
                                                                                                                      start of the season.
                                                                                                                          They have put in the time practicing
                                                                                                                      and they scrimmaged last week against
                                                                                                                      Licking  Valley running  plays and  trying
                                                                                                                      out  different  scenarios  on  the  field  as
                                                                                                                      their opponents did the same.  The week
                                                                                                                      prior they were on the road in Claymont
                                                                                                                      testing plays and making sure everyone
                                                                                                                      knew their job.
                                                                                                                          After John Glenn, the lineup chang-
                                                                                                                      es to  the Lakewood  Local  Lancers on
                                                                                                                      their home field on Friday, August 30th.
                                                                                                                      Followed  by  an  away  game at  nearby
                                                                                                                      Philo in Duncan Falls, the team that will
                                                                                                                      be the first big challenge although the
                                                                                                                      Panthers beat the Electrics  24 – 7 last
                                                                                                                      season.
                                                                                                                          With the  work done  leading  up  to

            The Lil’ Muskies hit the road for West  Kaiser  also  assisted teammate Estelle
