When we think about aging some of us may dread it. We cover up our wrinkles and grey hair and try to ignore that time is moving much quicker than we wish it were. For a group of seniors in their 90s, age is celebrated as it should be.
Many of these seniors have found that staying active and getting out of the house to socialize is important to their overall well being. Helen Gales, 92, emphasized how going to the Senior Center is good for socializing. Marilyn Gephart, who will be 91 in September, agreed and added, “the Senior Center is great because of the fellowship.” She also mentioned that she likes socializing with people that are in the same situation. Leonard Smith, 90, piped in with his words of advice, “eat good and exercise”. Everyone agreed that the Senior Center was the perfect place for anyone 60 or older to gather. “It is a lovely Senior Center. It could not be any better!”, remarked Bob Little, 91.
No matter what age you are, each year and every moment is a blessing that should be cherished.
