On Monday, August 20th at 6 pm Tri-Valley High School hosted their annual “Meet the Team” on the field at the Jack Anderson Stadium. Prior to meeting the team, there was an open house held to go in and view the Haliburton Building which houses the team locker rooms, film room, coach offices, and the weight room. Walking through the building you get a great sense of what football means to this small community, there are plaques on the wall showing the achievements of past and present players both on the field and in the weight room. In any account, it is a first-class facility that has been brought together by the 12th man club and all of the supporters in the community. After the open house, the team paraded onto the field in front of a host of fans while being cheered on by the middle school, freshman, JV, and Varsity cheer squads. The evening’s event included performances by the middle school cheerleaders, followed by the freshman, JV, and Varsity cheerleaders performing as a group accompanying some great music provided by the Tri-Valley Marching Scotties. The senior class members from the football team, cheerleaders, and the marching band introduced themselves and gave a brief description of their individual goals after graduation. It was great to see the local support and to hear from the team as well as coach Fell and his staff.
“The way a community comes together and rallies behind their children is what high school football is all about” stated head coach Kevin Fell.
