On Tuesday, September 25th, Tri-Valley Volleyball went up against the New Lexington Panthers.
To start the night off the Junior Varsity team started a three game match against New Lex. The Lady Dawgs came out battling hard to get the win and to keep the Panthers at bay. In the first game of the match Tri-Valley had a strong lead throughout the game and picked up the first victory of 25-17.
In the second game of the match the Panthers picked up a little steam taking their first lead of the match when the teams were at 7-10 midway through the second game. New Lex was not able to hold onto that lead for more than a few minute and the Lady Dawgs pulled off the final score of 25 – 16 for the game and a 2 game to – 0 match against the Panthers.
Next up the varsity team took on New Lexington. In this match there were some obvious standouts including #3 Senior Utie Dumolt with 13 digs and 12 spikes. The two varsity teams seemed pretty evenly matched up at the beginning of each game going point for point and keeping a tied score for the first half of two of the three games. But in the end the Lady Dawgs pulled off the win for the first game 25 – 22.
The next game of the match was similar until the Lady Dawgs pulled ahead at the very end of the game to make the game score total 25 – 19 Scotties! In the third game of the 5 game match the Lady Dawgs struggled a little to find their groove but then picked up steam to bring in the game and match win at 25 – 11.
The win over New Lexington brings the varsity MVL standings to 8 – 3 and their over all season score to 10 – 6. The Lady Dawgs take a week off before hosting the Sheridan Lady Generals on October 2nd at Tri-Valley High School. Good luck Scotties!
