Frazeysburg Lions Club on October 4th celebrated their 65th Charter Night at the Frazeysburg Presbyterian Church with 32 members and guests. Lion Jeff Garver welcomed everyone to the charter. Guests were Governor Barb Bachman from the Baltimore Lions Club Baltimore Ohio and husband PDG George, 1st District Governor Greg Randolph and wife Julia from the Scenic Hills Lion Club in Washington County Ohio, Guests from Duncan Falls-Philo, Limestone Valley and West Muskingum Lion Clubs and Paulette Young Frazeysburg and members spouses.
Since the 60th charter night November 4, 2013, there have been six deceased members. Lion Gerald Howard told about each serving the club over the years. A candle was lit for Jim Young, F.L.Ted Smeltzer, PCC/PDG John O’Flaherty, Sherry Young, Robert Carroll Bumpus, and John Tolliver.
Governor Barb Bachman presented the 100% attendance award to Jeff Garver, Bob Hindel, Gerald Howard, Charlotte Jenkins, Dan Osborn, Earl Paazig, Kent Shay and Becky Vansickle. Monarch Chevrons for the many years of serving the club were to Karen Barnhart and Cynthia (Paazig) Unger for 10 years, Dan Osborn 45 years and Bob Hindel 50 years.
Lion Becky Vansickle was present the Melvin Jones award for her leadership with the club and the Tri-Valley Scottie LEO club in the middle school. This is the highest award that a club can present.
