Nashport Elementary’s First Color Splash Run A Huge Success

The Nashport Elementary PTO put on a colorful first-time event for runners of all ages and abilities Saturday morning the 29th of September at the Zane State/OUZ Campus Collegial Trail.

The Color Splash Run/Walk brought a crowd of 300 participants!  The elementary students and their families were lined up ready and raring to go at 9 am in their white Color Splash Run shirts.   Color zone stations were set up along the 5K running and one-mile walking course.  Each runner made their way past the different stations to add a different splash of color to their shirts which provided the perfect canvas.  Since the focus of the race was about having fun, the finishers were not timed.

There were food vendors present as well as the musician Ethan Timm who performed classic rock tunes.

After participants crossed the finish line they received a color packet that was saved for the color bomb at the end of the race.  Groups of finishers threw their packets of color into the air after the countdown to release a rainbow of bright colored corn starch which rained down on them all to completely cover them in color.
