Scotties battle the Reynoldsburg Raiders in boys varsity soccer playoffs

Wednesday, October 17th the Tri-Valley boys varsity soccer team faced off with the Reynoldsburg Raiders on their home turf for the first post-season game and what would turn out to be the Dawgs only post season viewing due to the “one and done” nature of the tournament.

Despite frigidly cold temperatures the Scotties battled hard and held their ground against a very aggressive Reynoldsburg team.

The Scotties were able to keep the Raiders from scoring during standard play, but that is not to say that the Raiders made it easy for them.  In the game, the Raiders had 18 total shots on the goal and the Scotties defended all but one of them.

At the end of the game rather than calling a tie, the teams had to face off in two 15-minute halves with the “golden goal”  which means the first goal wins the game.

Once again the Raiders came out aggressive approaching the goal several times and Scotties held them back.  But with just 12 seconds left in the first overtime half, a throw-in ball from the Raiders was head-butted into the goal for their only, and game-winning score.

That concluded the Scotties post-season status, but overall there was nothing to complain about.  Tri-Valley had once again brought home the MVL championship.
