The Dresden Park Rededication Ceremony and Family Fun Day that took place on Saturday morning from 11 am until 1 pm honored the volunteers from the Rosewood Garden Club, Friends of the Dresden Parks, Tri-Valley FFA and art students for their hard work in beautifying the park.
“I don’t know that the village’s park has ever looked better. It is proof that it takes a community.”, said Mayor, Dave Mathew. Beth Brown, of the Muskingum Library System, had a similar remark, “You hear that phrase it takes a village..it did take a village to do all of this..it really did.”
Mr. Neal arranged for the Tri-Valley FFA and art students to repair and paint the benches. Mayor, Dave Mathew, coordinated the delivery of the gravel and brought in the stage. The Rosewood Garden Club managed the planting of the mums and flowers and the Friends of the Dresden Parks cleaned up the park grounds. It was a team effort, the result was stunning and well showcased at Saturday’s event.
The rededication was followed by family fun which included button making and pumpkin painting which were organized by the Dresden Branch Library, and a petting zoo which was brought in and run by the Tri-Valley FFA.
“The FFA is proud to support our local library, any chance we get to reach out to the kids in this area is a chance to grow the future of our farming community. The animals we brought out here are used to educate and excite these kids about agriculture.”, commented Tri-Valley FFA advisor Brian Merce.
