The Trinway Church, located at 12750, 2nd Ave., Trinway, initiated a prayer ministry open to the public this past month. The Church Board decided that despite its small size, the church would begin engaging the power of prayer for both the communities of Trinway and Dresden and invite individual personal prayer requests. The Board quoted Philippians 4: 6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” as the underlying basis for this ministry.
As a visible sign, the Church installed a prayer mailbox in front of the church where prayer requests can be dropped off and request cards are available. The Prayer Team will lift up prayer for the request for 30 days, and all information supplied will be held in strict confidence. It will also accept requests for a prayer team to come to your home for prayer.
This past month, the Church placed “door-hanging” prayer request cards on each of the homes in Trinway as well as in the nearby neighborhoods. It also hopes to place similar cards on the doors of the Dresden Community this year. In the meantime, residents are invited to drop by the Church and pick-up a prayer request card available on the side of the Prayer Mail Box.
Members involved in this prayer ministry have each experienced the power of prayer, and lifting up prayer for healing, comfort and peace is the least we can do for our communities.
