Lady Dawgs chase the Generals back to Sheridan

Wednesday, December 6th, the Tri-Valley Girls Varsity basketball team was faced with reigning MVL champion Sheridan Lady Generals in what was arguably one of the most edge-of-your-seat battles.  The Scotties were hoping to keep their winning record going and upsetting rival Sheridan seemed a great way to do that.  The Dawg House crowd couldn’t have said it better

Sheridan started out strong and pulled into a 9 – 6 lead by the end of the first period despite the six points put on the board by #12 Audrey Spiker, and #15 Lauren King.  The second period had the two teams trading shot for shot but some nice hoops like a triple from #15 Lauren King couldn’t pull the Scotties ahead and they went into halftime intermission down 21 – 7.

The second half of the game was an uphill battle for the Lady Dawgs but they were climbing and with the help of #12 Audrey Spiker, #3 Kyndal Howe, #5 Janie Mcloughlin they put enough points on the board to tie the Lady Generals at 29 – 29 by the end of the 3rd period.

Everyone was on the edge of their seats as the Scotties tried to pull ahead, this time it was a combination of good shots and hard fouls by the Generals that boosted the Tri-Valley team.  A total of 7 points just in foul shots by #3 Kyndal Howe, #11 Riley Tracy, and #15 Lauren King.  The Scotties only really grasped the lead in the last 2 minutes of the game including 5 points in the last minute of play making it a real nail-biter at the end!

Tri-Valley beat the Generals and it was a sweet victory considering the opponent.  Way to go girls!
