Each month on the second Monday a group of dedicated individuals come together to discuss, brainstorm and plan events and opportunities to improve Dresden. The Dresden Community Association’s (DCA’s) mission is “to encourage the development of civic functions and businesses with the intent to cultivate and enhance mutual well-being for the community of Dresden, Ohio.”
The group, Formerly known as the Dresden Village Association (DVA), is more than just a business organization. It is about bringing like-minded people together to build awareness about our village through marketing and tourism, strengthening our community by raising funds that can be donated to local causes, bettering events and adding new ones to bring people together, as well as supporting businesses so that they can grow and continue to serve Dresden.
Each year the DCA coordinates annual events like the People’s Choice Car Show, Dave Longaberger Legacy Dinner, Ladies’ Night and Home for the Holiday’s Parade. For 2019 the hope is to add a Farmer’s Market to the schedule. The group is currently looking for people who are interested in organizing events such as the Farmer’s Market (please contact the DCA via email info@destinationdresden.com or come to the next meeting on March 11th at the Warehouse in Dresden).
In addition to events, the DCA promotes tourism in Dresden and markets the area through the Destination Dresden website, www.destinationdresden.com, and social media pages which reach thousands of people across the United States.
Currently, the DCA is working on the new Destination Dresden Registry and Visitors Guide. This is an annual project for the DCA that combines a local directory of businesses and organizations and visitor information into one handy guide. The guide is mailed to homes throughout Dresden, Frazeysburg
