Cheerleader Corina Kain
Corina was selected to attend and participate in the 2019 Cheer Hawaii Invitational. This cheer camp is a week long experience that will take place from June 20th to June 27th this year on the island of Oahu at the University of Hawaii Campus.
At the age of just three, Corina found her passion for tumbling and later cheering. She has been cheering for 13 years with experience at the school and through Champion Athletics where she enjoys the extra challenge that competition cheer brings. She plans to continue cheering after graduating from high school. The Cheer Hawaii platform will allow her to be better prepared for the pressure and challenge of cheering at the college level.
The selection process for Cheer Hawaii is intense with only 160 sophomores and juniors selected from a pool of nominated varsity cheerleaders from all 50 states. The student-athletes must fit requirements including good leadership abilities, desire to improve, excellence in academics, a positive attitude, and good basic cheer skills.
Champion Athletics coach Joelle Bice nominated Corina for Cheer Hawaii because she demonstrates all of the above-listed attributes and more. “Corina is an amazing athlete, leader, and student. She always leads by example and works hard towards her goals. She is great with time management and always pushes her teammates to be their best. Corina deserves this opportunity to work with some of the greatest college coaches in the industry! I’m beyond proud of her!”, said coach Bice.
In addition to preparing for cheering in college, Cheer Hawaii also intertwines a bit of Hawaii culture with building necessary cheer skills and growing leadership abilities. Her experience at the week-long camp will be added value that she can bring back to the Tri-Valley cheer team as she goes into her senior year this coming fall.
