The Scotties Varsity Softball Team was up to the challenge on Tuesday, March 26th when they went up against the Morgan Raiders. #13 Janessa Dawson pitched a shut-out and the Scotties won 11 – 0.
Tri-Valley took the lead in the second inning and never let go of it. #15 Maddy Wortman got a sacrifice bunt RBI, and #2 Alex Lemley singled on a pop fly to shortstop to bring in the second run of the inning bring the Scotties to the front with a 2 – 0 lead.
From there it was all downhill for the Raiders as the barrage just kept coming from Tri-Valley with a single run in the 3rd, a 5 run streak in the 4th including a Homer by #16 Savannah Shumway, and finally 3 runs in the 5th with a homer by #6 Hannah Worthington.
#13 Janessa Dawson took the win for Tri-Valley, she went 5 innings, allowing only 4 hits and 0 runs. Way to go Dawson!
The Scotties had 12 hits in the game with 11 runs.
