Tri-Valley Middle School swimmers took another big step forward Friday night, March 22, 2019 as they hosted another area swim meet and posted an impressive win against squads from Martins Ferry, Coshocton, Barnsville, John Glenn, Crooksville, Maysville, Bishop Fenwick, West Muskingum, Sheridan, Zanesville as well as the Aqua Devels.

To jump start the meet, Tri-Valley swimmers Nora Dunn, Emma Lewis, Mazie Mallett and Abri Mallett captured second place in the 200 Yard Medley Relay.  A second relay team of Eli McDonald, Ally Barclay, Alex Dale and Kendyll Buckner also represented the Junior Scotties in the same event.

Eighth Grader Emma Lewis come right back to finish second for Tri-Valley in the 200 Yard Freestyle event.

A popular event for the young swimmers saw seven Junior Scotties participate in the 50 Backstroke.  Abri Mallett led the way with a fourth place finish followed by Nora Dunn ((9th) and Ally Barclay (10th).  Other finishers for the Dawgs were Eli McDonald, Katie Davis, Brady Swope, Hayden Weck and Isaac Lanning.

Swimmers Mazie Mallett, Ally Barclay and Alex Dale finished in 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the 100 Yard IM followed by Isaac Lanning.  Barclay established a new personal best time in the event.

With a relatively small squad, each swimmer has the opportunity to compete in several events.  That was the case with Abri Mallett, Ally Barclay as well as Kendyll Buckner.  The 50 Breaststroke was next for them where they finished 7th, 9th and 19th as they showed good form in the event.

A second Backstroke event was next for the Scotties, this time, the 100 Backstroke.  Third place was captured by Eli McDonald while teammate Katie Davis finished 4th.

With two individual events remaining, Mazie Mallett, Alex Dale and Kendyll took to the blocks for the Dawgs in the 50 Butterfly where they finished 4th, 7th and 10th.  The following event saw Emma Lewis touch in 5th place just seconds out of first place as she established a new personal best time in the 100 Yard Breaststroke.

To wrap up the meet, Emma Lewis was back in the pool with teammates Kendyll Buckner, Eli McDonald and Ally Barclay to capture 6th place in the 200 Yard Free Relay.  That foursome was joined by Katie Davis, Brady Swope, Isaac Lanning and Hayden Weck to wrap-up the events for the Tri-Valley Scotties.
