Tri-Valley “Diamond Dawg” Seniors scoring a bright future!

Tri-Valley’s varsity baseball team consists of only four seniors this year, but those seniors have a longstanding legacy with the Scotties! In their careers with the varsity team, they have collectively seen 2 MVL championships, 4 postseason playoff games, 54 total wins (as of April, 9th 2019), and an awesome 91 runs. One thing these four have in spades is teamwork always having each other’s backs as well as helping the rest of the team whenever they can. They are a good example for the underclassmen to pay attention to and we look forward to seeing them play the rest of this season!

Chase Kendrick

#24 Chase Kendrick
Chase started his baseball career in T-ball at age 6 in Dresden, but was quickly moved to coach pitch the same year due to his powerful hitting. Chase has played ever since, entering the ranks of the Tri-Valley varsity baseball team as a freshman in 2016. Over the years he has played a variety of positions in baseball including, pitching, short-stop, 3rd base, 1st base, and outfield, and he is comfortable playing any one of them. Chase is looking forward to this summer when he will be training with his Otterbein University football team to get ready for the upcoming season. While at school he is going to be studying Optometry and is looking forward to shadowing Zanesville Optometrist Slade Galloway in the near future.

Kaden Lawler

#22 Kaden Lawler
Kaden began his baseball career at age 5 when he started playing T-Ball in Dresden and has been at home on the field ever since. During his summers of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Kaden played for the traveling team the Dresden J-Hawks with Chase Kendrick as a teammate. One of their fondest memories with the J-Hawks was beating the Athens team in July of 2015. Kaden has been a catcher for most of his career from little league all the way to his sophomore year in high school when he joined the Tri-Valley varsity team and even to this day. After graduation, Kaden will be joining the ranks of the National Guard and headed off for a long summer of training but he is looking forward to the challenge.

Justin Fernburg

#16 Justin Fernburg
Like his other teammates, Justin has been playing baseball since the age of 5 when he started with his first T-ball team. However, unlike his teammates, he started his career in Pennsylvania. His little league team won the Pennsylvania State Championship when he was 14 just before he moved to Ohio. Justin joined the Tri-Valley varsity team his freshman year and has been a pitcher, a catcher, and an outfielder aptly working all three of those positions on the field. Some of Justin’s fondest memories throughout the years in baseball have been when the Scotties won the MVL Championship in both the 2016 and 2017 seasons. He is looking forward to playing summer baseball and is still trying to decide on a college where he can play baseball next season.

Dalton Anker

#8 Dalton Anker
At 5 years old, Dalton got his start in baseball when he started to play T-Ball in Dresden. And like his teammates, he has played baseball since then, in little league Dalton played for the Ohio Independence team. He started pitching for Tri-Valley on the junior varsity team when he was a freshman and continued to pitch for them until last season when he moved up to pitch for the varsity team. In his high school career so far Dalton has pitched 88 strikeouts between JV and varsity seasons. Dalton prefers pitching and is looking forward to playing college baseball.
