On Wednesday, April 10th at the Little Muskies baseball field Tri-Valley was all but set to win the game when a late inning homerun by John Glenn opened them up for a loss that may have ended differently under other circumstances.
Tri-Valley opened up the scoring in the first inning when #16 Justin Fernburg grounded out to shortstop bringing in the runner on third base, and just like that Tri-Valley was up 1 – 0 against John Glenn which was eventually tied up by the Muskies in the bottom of the 4th inning.
Tri-Valley took the lead again in the top of the 5th with a sacrifice fly to center by #9 Brennon Mitchell bringing in a run and popping Tri-Valley up 2 – 1 over the Muskies, but John Glenn answered back in the bottom of the 5th with a 3-run homer bring the score to 4 – 2 in John Glenn’s favor.
#16 Justin Fernburg scored in the top of the 6th to bring the score to 4 – 3 Muskies, but John Glenn again homered in the bottom of the 6th to bring in two more runs and pushing their lead to 6 – 3 against the Scotties.
#4 Drew Richert homered for the Scotties at the opening of the 7th inning bringing Tri-Valley closer, only down 6 – 4. Unfortunately, the game ended on a questionable call after a line drive by #5 Ty Smith brought in runner #1 Trevor Yoder who was called out at home base after being tagged half-way across the plate closing the game at 6 – 4 Little Muskies.
