Tri-Valley FFA Has a Big Weekend

Submitted by Tri-Valley FFA Advisor, Brian Merce

During the last weekend in April, the Tri-Valley FFA competed in two state-level Career Development Events, General Livestock and Meats Evaluation. They represented themselves, and their school very well. On Friday, they placed 5th overall in the General Livestock contest, top finisher on the team was Ellie Kidwell who finished eighth in the state helping bring home the first state banner in that contest in decades. Then on Saturday, they placed 2nd in the Meats Evaluation contest, with Amber Heil finishing 4th in the state and leading the team! Both of these honors mean they have qualified for National Contests. For the Livestock team, it’s a trip to the Keystone National Livestock show in Harrisburg, PA; for the Meats team, it is a second trip to Denver and the National Western Stock Show!
