The storefronts may look a bit different at both the Dresden and Frazeysburg pharmacies but inside you will find the same familiar faces ready to serve you just as they have for years.
On December 19, 2018 Benzer Pharmacy purchased Lawler’s Pharmacy located at 817 Main St., Dresden and Johnston’s Pharmacy at 26 E 3rd St., Frazeysburg. The change has been barely noticeable to many until just recently when new signs and awnings have changed the face of both pharmacy buildings.
“We want our customers to know that we are not going anywhere”, stated Heather Lawler.
The new ownership is a great thing for both pharmacies as they will both have the purchasing power and negotiation power of a larger company with the personal pharmacist connection that has made both pharmacies loved by their communities.
“The new Benzer Pharmacy is everything you loved about Lawler’s (Johnston’s) Pharmacy plus whatever we can do to back them up”, said Benzer Regional Manager, Christopher Lenz.

Another large pharmacy chain recently bought several community pharmacies and immediately closed them, leaving their towns without a local pharmacy. Benzer Pharmacy is known for purchasing small-town pharmacies throughout the country and making sure their legacies remain and that the stores stay open. They have been presented multiple awards for the fastest-growing pharmacy group in their initiative to help small-town pharmacies.
