Library Family Fun Event Celebrates End of Summer with Big Splash

All through the summer, the Dresden Branch Library has held special events as part of their Summer Reading Program. Educational and entertaining events like a visit from We Luv Pets, an alien escape room and Lego building and pizza party, were just some examples of the fun that was had by children who attended.

Although the Summer Reading Program wrapped up last month, the fun continued with the Game On Event which was like a grand finale for the fun-filled summer activities the Library has hosted.

Kids were treated to an afternoon of water games during the event which took place at the 9th Street park on Wednesday, August 14th.

Activities kept the kids fascinated and cooled off. Games included tossing a water balloon back and forth on a beach towel and a water relay race where kids transferred water from one bucket to another using a plastic cup with little holes which allowed the water to slowly trickle out along its journey, etcetera.

It was a fun day for not only the kids but also the staff. “I love my job, and I love the kids. This is the best place I’ve ever worked,” said Branch Float, Erin Hayes.
