Tri-Valley Superintendent – Mark Neal Installed as 50th President of Buckeye Association of School Administrators

On Tuesday, August 13th, school administrators from around the state of Ohio gathered at the Tri-Valley middle school to witness the installation of Mark Neal as their 50th President for BASA (Buckeye Association of School Administrators).

For the past 50 years, BASA has been aiding and supporting school superintendents from all over the state of Ohio. BASA’s official mission is to inspire and support its members, develop exemplary school system leaders and advocate for public education.

As the president of the executive committee for BASA, Mr. Neal will be going all over the state advocating not only for public education but also representing the Tri-Valley School system.

“We are excited to have Mark as our 50th president, he is a strong leader and will bring a lot to our organization. We believe that schools are a reflection of the community. Tri-Valley and the communities that support the schools are truly exemplary!” stated Dr. R. Kirk Hamilton, the Executive Director of BASA.

Mark Neal has been the Tri-Valley Local School Superintendent for the past 11 years. Before moving to the area Mark was a superintendent, a middle school principal, a high school principal, and a high school English teacher in the northwestern portion of Ohio.

Mr. Neal is a graduate of Bowling Green State University and holds a post-graduate degree from the University of Dayton. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Operation Desert Storm.

Mark and his wife Michelle are the parents of six children, four of whom are graduates of the Tri-Valley School system and two are currently enrolled.

This is not Mark’s first appointment with BASA as he has served on numerous BASA committees, he is the past president of OALSS, and has been actively advocating for public school districts over the last 15 years.

“I am honored to have this great opportunity, and it is nice to be able to bring all of the superintendents to Dresden” stated Mr. Neal.
