The fair is an amazing community event. It brings people together to show off their accomplishments. A long time ago it was for the farmers to sell their animals so they could make money at the end of each season. Now it’s a way for 4-H kids to show their animals that they’ve raised.
When I walked through the chicken house I also saw other kinds of birds like turkeys, geese, ducks, doves, and Guinea hens. Then, when I walked through the rabbit house I saw different rabbit breeds like lops, lion heads, American chinchillas, silver martens, angoras, Flemish Giants, and silver foxes. When I went into the cattle house there was a show going on, I noticed that some of the cows were bigger than their owners so the owners were struggling to be in control of their cattle. The judge was telling them what to do and was helping them.
Then I went to the sheep house and I saw the sheep were all in a line and it wasn’t just kids holding them it was the owner’s parents too because their parents had to hold them down because sheep are even more stubborn than the cattle. The pigs you can’t put a lead and you can’t pick them up so you have to urge them into the arena and when they’re sold you urge them out of the arena. Last I went to go see the horse barn and arena. It is always cool to see the relationship that the kids and their animals have built over the summer. It is also cool to see how the horses do their tricks! I hope that the fair was as much fun for you as it was for me!
