Scotties Circled The Wagons And Fought Off The Chieftains

On Friday, August 30th, Tri-Valley opened their season at “The Jack” with the season opener against the Logan Chieftains. Going into the game, Tri-Valley knew that they were going to be expecting a different team from last year. The Chieftains had a new coach and some new plays too.

Both teams started off slow at the beginning of the night, but as the first quarter came to a fizzling close with 2:03 left on the clock, #33 Jordan Pantaleo exploded into the end zone waking up the entire Scottie Nation, and lighting up the scoreboard with a 7 – 0 lead following Kaden Bays PAT.

The second quarter brought more Friday-night lights to the scoreboard when #22 Blake Sands caught a 36-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Aiden Fritter. After #46 Kaden Bay went to work landing the PAT the score was now 14 – 0 Scotties.

The half was winding down and the Scotties were still hungry for more points and Pantaleo was glad to oblige with a touchdown with just 1:34 remaining in the half shooting the score up another notch to 21 – 0 Dawgs.

With merely 41 seconds left in the first half of the game the usual suspects Jordan Pantaleo and the PAT from Kaden Bay brought the score up to 28 – 0 before both teams headed off to the locker rooms to talk about the first half, although I don’t know what there was to say, the Dawgs were rocking the game!

The third quarter brought another score from leading scorer Jordan Pantaleo and the score was up to 35 – 0 Tri-Valley. However, Logan had woken up a bit two and was able to manage a touchdown and put their own score on the scoreboard and landing the total at 35 – 7 Tri-Valley.

After the kickoff from Logan, #22 Blake Sands gave the Logan team a run for their money when he busted through multiple tackles to carry the ball over the 50-yard line and give the Tri-Valley offense a great field position for their next stanza. Unfortunately the Scotties were unable to capitalize on any more plays with trips to the end zone, but all in all, the game ended Tri-Valley 35 – 0

The boys proceeded to run down the field and ring the Jack’s victory bell with joy and knowing that they had the first game of the season under their belt. That’s right, the Scotties are 1 – 0 and ready for more!

Next up the Dawgs take on the Morgan Raiders on their home field in McConnelsville, Ohio, on Friday, September 6th. Good luck guys, we look forward to seeing the game.
