In a game that saw constant forward movement for the Scotties, even when they didn’t have the ball, Tri-Valley brought home a huge 44 – 13 victory.
I would have to start off by saying that I don’t think I have seen a team travel so far down a field backwards as I did on Friday, September 6th, at the Morgan Raiders homefield. Tri-Valley was constantly moving the ball forward, when they had possession they were completing play after play with staggering numbers with 103 rushing yards and 221 passing yards, not to mention time after time tackling Morgan players well into the backfield. At one point the Raiders moved from mid-field to the Tri-Valley endzone while in possession of the ball the whole time.
To my point, Tri-Valley’s first score of the night was on a safety just one minute and 15 seconds into the game leading Morgan 2 – 0. On the very next play #22 Blake Sands (who was having a huge night for the Dawgs) caught the kickoff and returned it 67-yards for a touchdown with #46 Kaden Bay’s good PAT popping the score to 9 – 0 Tri-Valley. The Dawgs added to the scoreboard again as Blake Sands ran in a 25-yard touchdown and Bay topped it with a PAT setting the score at 16 – 0 against Morgan. But the first quarter wasn’t over yet, another player having a great night for Tri-Valley was quarterback #6 Aiden Fritter with 185 passing yards for the game, 17 of which came with a shot landed to #30 Alex Williams for a touchdown and of course #46 Bay did not let us down the great Point after ending the quarters scoring at 23 – 0 Tri-Valley.

The second quarter brought more scoring. Just two minutes into the new quarter Blake Sands blasts through the end zone on a 29-yard carry and #30 Morgan Williamson is brought out to put in the good PAT setting the score at 30 – 0 TV. Morgan did answer back toward the end of the quarter with a touchdown of their own but leaving the 2-point conversion on the field 30 – 6 Dawgs. With just 19 seconds left in the first half of the game, Aiden Fritter lands a jaw-dropping 68-yard touchdown pass to Blake Sands and the half ends with Tri-Valley up 37 – 6 over the Morgan Raiders.
After the halftime break, Morgan tightened their defense only allowing one more touchdown by Tri-Valley’s Blake Sands and rounding out the Dawgs score for the night at 44. The rest of the game was a lot of battling back and forth but only saw one more touchdown by Morgan as well, but it was not enough to contain the damage that was already done and the game closed with Tri-Valley winning 44 – 13.
On Friday, September 13th, the Scotties will be taking on Zanesville in the John D. Sulsberger Memorial Stadium. Come out and support the Dawgs as the try to bring their MVL record to 3 – 0.
