Scotties stole the “W” from Crooksville

On Friday, September 20th, at Jack Anderson stadium the Dawgs put on an awesome display of teamwork and strength on both sides of the ball with a massive 42 – 0 Homecoming game win!

Even though the first score did not come until the second quarter, that does not mean the first quarter was boring by any means. Early on in the first quarter, the Ceramics tried to make a quick 4th down and 1 run to get to the first down, but they fumbled the ball on a quarterback keeper and #76 Gyle Bradshaw recovered it for the Scotties. On the Scotties’ drive for the goal, however, a pass intended for #8 DJ Cross ended up being picked off by Crooksville. With just a minute left in the quarter the Ceramics line up for a 32-yard field goal attempt, but it was no good.

The Dawgs opened up the scoring in the second quarter with a huge pass from #6 Aidan Fritter to #8 DJ Cross for a 47-yard touchdown with a point after brought on by #46 Kaden Bay… 7 – 0 Scotties. Crooksville regained possession of the ball for a short 22 yard push but then handed it back to Tri-Valley who with the help of a 24-yard run by #33 Jordan Pantaleo was able to get a 2-yard quarterback keeper into the end zone with #6 Aidan Fritter and the extra point by #46 Kaden Bay brought the total score to 14 – 0 Scotties. And just like it was on repeat, Crooksville had the ball for a short run and #33 Jordan Pantaleo made a big 17-yard run to get the Dawgs within 2-yards of the goal. This time Pantaleo punched the ball through the end zone himself and with Bay’s assist landed the score at 21 – 0 Dawgs with only 44 seconds left in the half so the Scotties went into the locker rooms up 21 – 0.

After halftime, the Ceramics came out of the locker room ready to fight back picking off a pass by Fritter in the first minute of the quarter. However, Tri-Valley was not stunted during Crooksville’s possession, in fact, the Scotties continued to push forward giving up a total of -7 yards on the Ceramics drive. After the punt to the Scotties #6 Aidan Fritter completed a pass to #22 Blake Sands for a massive 69-yard touchdown and #46 Kaden Bay popped on the PAT giving the Scotties a 28 – 0 lead over Crooksville. The Dawgs momentum could not be slowed down, on Crooksville’s next drive they fumbled the ball and it was recovered by #10 Trever Neibarger to put the Scotties back on the short drive for the goal at the Crooksville 18-yard line. #6 Aidan Fritter again comes through for the Dawgs landing a pass to #5 Keaton Williams for a touchdown and Bay landed the extra point shooting the score up to 35 – 0 Tri-Valley.

The fourth quarter went by like a blaze with the Ceramics struggling to try and get on the scoreboard but falling short every time. They fought hard to stop the Scotties’ push and held them off for a while but with only 3 minutes and 51 seconds left in the game #33 Jordan Pantaleo made a 28-yard dash for the end zone for a touchdown and #4 Morgan Williamson made the point after closing the games score at 42 – 0 Tri-Valley.
