Scotties Boys Varsity Soccer Wrap Up Season With Tough Playoff Loss to West Holmes

It has been a long season for the Dawgs, but one they will surely remember fondly. For the fourth straight year the Scotties have landed an MVL championship and a birth into post season playoffs. This year the first playoff game was against the West Holmes Knights.

The game started off as a struggle for both teams battling back and fourth for possession of the ball. The Scotties managed to land one shot in the first half of the game, but the Knights answered back with 2 of their own taking the lead into the halftime break.

In the second half of the game the Scotties came out to try to gain back the momentum, and hoping for a continuation of their playoff season. With a little over 8 minutes left in the game #8 Dustin Watts landed the game-tying score to put both teams on level ground at 2 points each. Tri-Valley continued to battle taking multiple shots on the goal as well as defending their own goal several times before the Knights landed the leading shot with 5 minutes left in the game. The Scotties struggled to recover and try to tie the game up, but they fell just short and the Knights took home the 3 – 2 victory as well as the hopes of continuing on in the playoff schedule.

The Dawgs end their season with an outstanding 6 – 3 – 2 record and of course their coveted 4th MVL Championship to put the feather in the cap of the senior players. Great job Scotties, looking forward to next season and of course a 5th MVL title!!
