Senior Center Celebrates Christmas with Annual Dinner

Members of the Bonnie Longaberger Senior Center enjoyed a fun afternoon with friends at the annual Christmas Dinner on Saturday, December 14 at the American Legion in Dresden.

A delicious and filling dinner of either chicken, ham loaf or pork chop, mashed potatoes and gravy, a roll, vegetables, and coleslaw was catered by Scotties Den. Many varieties of pies were available for desert and one of the members even made cookies for everyone to take home.

Pam Boal and Peg Lacy were among those that worked hard to make the event possible. Peg even dressed up as Mrs. Claus for the event.

Mayor Dave Mathew entertained the seniors during the meal with his musical talent of singing.

Santa even stopped in to make sure everyone was in the Christmas spirit and chatted with several attendees.

Towards the end of the event, a drawing for a gift card from each of the local restaurants, fruit trays, a basket of goodies, and poinsettias took place. No one went home empty-handed.

The seniors gather Monday through Friday at the Bonnie Longaberger Senior Center for games, and lunch. A birthday celebration is held monthly on the third Thursday. In addition, special holiday parties are held throughout the year.
