A cold start for sure, on Tuesday, January 7th 2020, at the Rich Longaberger Court, the Scotties started the game with a deficit as the John Glenn Muskies came to play, however the Scotties not only closed the gap but created a gap of their own pulling in a 52-36 big conference win.
In the first quarter Tri-Valley fans were sweating as John Glenn hit the court ready to dominate the Scotties, and for the first 8 minutes they tried jumping to a nine point lead going into the second quarter 14 – 5 against the Dawgs.
In the second quarter the Scotties gained their foothold and drove forward to close the gap and tie up the Muskies with a 16 point gain from the previous period lead by #23 Jack Lyall with 7 points of his own including a three pointer, and another three put up by the sophomore hoopster #3 Jalen Goins-Chandler ending the half 21 – 21.
The Dawgs roared out of the locker room after the break bound to continue their drive and take the lead over the Muskies. Bringing a 16 point period vs the Muskies 3 points the Scotties rolled over John Glenn to push forward and lead the game by 37 – 24 at the end of the 3rd assisted by the Lyall brothers who each had a three-pointer in the period.
The Scotties continued their lead and impressive defense against the Muskies in the fourth period keeping John Glenn from catching up as they blazed forward to a 16 point lead and ended the game 52 – 36.
