Obituary: Christopher J. “Chris” Holland

Christopher J. “Chris” Holland, 46, of Nashport, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 26, 2020.

Born November 6, 1973 in Zanesville, Ohio, he was the son of Larry and Betty (Newell) Holland of Trinway, Ohio and was a 1992 graduate of Tri-Valley High School.  He was also a 2013 graduate of Zane State College with a degree in mechanical engineering, and a 2019 graduate of Mount Vernon Nazarene University where he received his bachelor’s degree in business.  Chris was a basket maker and pivotal member of the ergonomic team at The Longaberger Company.  Later, he owned and operated his own construction company, Titan Construction.  His most recent accomplishment was that of being the President of Malta Dynamics where he thrived on keeping others safe in many industries and where he was also a Z359 ANSI board member.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling, hunting, camping, carpentry, watching sporting events, and especially fishing.  Chris truly was a one-of-a-kind person who always had the answer to every question. 

In addition to his parents, Chris is survived by his wife Jesica (Cobb) Holland whom he married November 15, 2014; He leaves behind three children whom his whole life was devoted to being the best dad and role model that he could be, Dakota, Caleb and Tylee; a sister and brother in-law Juliet and Chad Bay; his grandmother, Angelina Holland; his in-laws Lori and Tracey Porter, Chris and Sharon Cobb, Mercedes, Daniel, Kristen and Matt, Austin, Stephen and Andrea, Taylor, Christopher and Carlie; and his nieces and nephews, whom each held their own special place within his heart, Ashton, Kaden, Thea, Holden, Ember and Stetson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Earl “Bink” Holland, Lewis and Eileen Newell, and Philo and Eula Norman.

Calling hours: 3pm to 7pm Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at North Terrace Church of Christ, 1420 Brandywine Blvd., Zanesville, Ohio.  Funeral service: 11:00am Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at the North Terrace Church of Christ with Minister Chris Steele officiating.
