On Saturday, February 22nd they all but shut out the visiting East Liverpool team with a score of 68 – 12 earning a sectional title. They moved on to the district semi-finals where they had tougher competition but they still took a demanding 64 – 42 victory and are off to the district finals on Saturday February 29th against Maysville in West Muskingum.

In Saturdays game against East Liverpool the girls dominated from the start and never looked back, taking a huge 18 – 3 lead by the end of the first quarter of play.

The second quarter saw the Lady Dawgs shutout their opponent and blast forward to a foreboding 40 – 3 lead going into the halftime break and pushing the game into a running clock scenario due to the over 30 point lead.

After the intermission the Tri-Valley girls came out to finish the job they had started and even with the running-clock rule continued to dismantle the East Liverpool defense locked in the Sectional Title with a 68 – 12 win!

“Winning the Sectional Championship means a lot to us. We knew coming in here that we had to get it don, we knew we had to keep going, and pushing, and turning up the intensity and just give it all we’ve got so we keep making it!” stated #15 senior Lauren King who led the scoring for the Lady Dawgs with 15 points.

At their following District playoff game against Dover, the Lady Dawgs took on a much more aggressive opponent but still got the job done with a 22 point margin at 64 – 42.
