This week Mayor, Greg Morrison purchased and installed a Dog Waste Station in the 500 block of Main Street to encourage residents to pick up after their pet and make doing so easier by providing bags and a pet waste receptacle.
Signs will also be posted along Main Street and throughout the village to remind pet owners to pick up their dog’s droppings.
An ordinance has been in place for some time. It will be heavily enforced by local law enforcement with fines being given to those who are spotted leaving dog waste behind. Mayor Morrison explained that if the pet owner does not want to pay the fine they have the option to spend a day cleaning up dog waste.
