Frazeysburg Lions Awarded at 2020 Convention

The Ohio District 13 OH7 Lions Convention was held this March 6th to the 8th at the Quality Inn Hotel in Athens and Alexander School in Albany, Ohio. Frazeysburg Lions Club had 3rd Vice President Jeff Garver, Sec/Treas. Dan Osborn and wife Ruth, Leo Advisor Becky Vansickle, District Constitution and By-Laws Chair. Earl Paazig and wife Sondra attended. The District OH7 has 54 Lion, 2 Lioness and 20 Leo Clubs this year.

Tri-Valley Middle School Scotties Leo Club received a certificate in appreciation from the State Lions for all the work that they do in their community. The kids made a blanket that was auctioned off at the convention as a service project. Lion Becky Vansickle is the Leo Club advisor.

Frazeysburg Lions Club received the following during the business session on Saturday:

• 3rd Place plaque in the 21 to 30-member size clubs in The Governor’s contest.
• 1st Place plaque In the District OH 7 Scrapbook contest
• District OH 7 Humanitarian Award medal for donations made to 9 or more Local, District and State projects.
• District OH 7 Service Award medal as the club completed 15 or more of the Local, District or State projects.
• Russ Williams Chapter medal for donations made to The Lions Clubs International Foundation to help people in need all over the world.
• Certificate of Appreciation certificates from Lions Club International Foundation, Ohio Lions Eye Research Foundation Inc. for supporting Research into the Causes of Blindness, Ohio Lions Foundation, Central Ohio Lions Eye Bank for supporting the mission of the Central Ohio Lions Eye Bank, Sight and Hearing Supporter Award for Supporting the OH7 Vision Screening Program.
• Lion Kenny Jenkins received District OH7 pins and certificate for being an excellent President for this Lions year for the club.
• Lion Dan Osborn received District OH7 pins and certificate for being an excellent secretary and treasurer for this Lions year for the club.
• Zone 3 Lion of the Year given by Zone Chairman Dan Cowden went to Lion Jeff Garver.
• OH 7 Hall of Fame Awardees this year were the following: Deceased member PCC / PDG John O’Flaherty of Frazeysburg Club, Living members PDG Stan Starling Chesterhill Club, and PDG John Smith Jackson Club
• Lion Earl Paazig won 2nd place in the Lions Games of knowledge held after the meeting and before the Paul Bunyan’s Red Plaid Lumberjack and Lumberjill dinner.
• On Sunday, Lion Jeff Garver received from Governor Schultz and the International Director Michael Banks an International President Award and medal. Lion Earl Paazig received one of the 7 Ohio Council of Governor Banners and Pin that Governor Bill Schultz passed out.
