Muskingum County Library System Responds to the Coronavirus – Library Closes for Public Safety

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio – In response to Governor DeWine’s call to limit public gatherings and at the recommendation of the Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department, in an effort to limit and slow the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), we have made the difficult but necessary decision to close all Muskingum County Library locations effective on Monday, March 16 at 8:00 PM and will remain closed through at least Tuesday, March 31. This is an unprecedented but important measure to keep everyone in our community and on our staff healthy as long as possible.

If you have library materials checked out, please keep them until we reopen. Due dates will be adjusted accordingly. Check this page, social media accounts, or sign up for our digital newsletter to stay updated.

While our buildings are closed, you can still access thousands of free ebooks, audiobooks, movies, music, and more from our digital collection. We will be working to add more titles to our digital download services.

We understand this is a difficult time for our patrons and their families. We hope to resume full service as soon as possible but will continue to abide by the recommendations of local and state health officials. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to respond in a manner that protects the wellbeing of our community.
