Owners James and Susan McDonald of McDonald’s Greenhouse and Corn Maze (3220 Adamsville Rd, Zanesville), and their two boys, Jack and Eli, as well as a team of employees, have been preparing for the biggest season yet at the farm. This year marks their 25th Anniversary!
The business is locally famous for its fall family attractions which include an impressive corn maze but in the spring the greenhouse is a display of a rainbow of colors. A newly expanded perennial section, annuals, hanging baskets as well as other plants such as succulents, herbs, and vegetable plants are all available for purchase daily beginning on April 24. Other garden essentials are also in stock including seeds, mulch, potting soil, peat moss, etc.
Of course, the season is starting out a little differently than planned, but like with other essential businesses, McDonald’s Greenhouse is finding new and creative ways of doing business. Call ahead ordering (740-607-6922 or 740-819-5814) and curbside pick-up are available. They are practicing social distancing in the greenhouses and there is plenty of open-air shopping opportunities outside. In addition, they have increased their cleaning schedule, practice frequent hand washing, and have educated their employees on the best practices recommended by the CDC.
There are several upcoming classes that are scheduled, some of which may be held using technology. For more information visit facebook.com/mcdonaldsgreenhouseltd or mcdonaldsgreenhouse.com.
