The Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center (MVESC) recently honored the writing talents of five area students with $1,000 Susan Writing Scholar Awards.
The students receiving the awards were Cambria Beane and Megan Knicely, John Glenn High School; Ava Moore and Adelaide Pitcock, Tri-Valley High School; and Alexis Salsbury, Philo High School.
The students were selected for the awards because they demonstrated outstanding promise and talent for creative writing. In addition to their scholarship awards, the students will have their names added to a plaque that is displayed at the MVESC.
The scholarships are supported by the Susan E. Mahoney Fund.
