Many of Tri-Valley’s FFA Members were recognized at a virtual Ohio FFA State Celebration held May 4-8, 2020. The celebration was available to be viewed online on FFA social media channels. This year marks the 92nd consecutive Ohio FFA Celebration.
Three of Tri-Valley’s retiring officers were awarded gold-rated honors for their officer books during the celebration. Secretary, Amber Heil; Treasurer, Abigail Cullins; and Sadie Devore were each honored for their respective books.
In addition, Wesley Hatfield placed fourth overall for Beef Production – entrepreneurship. He is very proficient in this area and to place fourth is a great honor.
In the area of Agricultural Processing, Tucker Journey earned first place. His experience at Olde Village Meats helped him obtain the award. This fall Tucker will move on to represent the Tri-Valley Chapter at the National FFA Convention.
Six members were awarded the state degree honor. To receive this honor the students have to be active in their community, active in the FFA, and own a project or work at a business in which they earn a specified amount of money. The recipients were Rylee Birkhimer, Samantha Cross, Abigail Cullins, Brady Jacobs-Bell, Reily Jacobs-Bell, and Alexis Teter.
2020-2021 Senior, Reily Jacobs-Bell, was elected to state office as a vice president at large. She will be representing Tri-Valley and the Ohio FFA as a state officer. If you missed the celebration be sure to visit ohioffa.org to view the videos from the virtual event.
