Last fall Ohio First Responders Grants, LLC announced that the Frazeysburg and Dresden Fire Departments would be receiving FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grants. A Grant in the amount of $96,950 was awarded to the Dresden Volunteer Fire Department. At that time they planned to upgrade some of their hose and nozzles which has been in service since 1980. Earlier this Spring that equipment arrived.
The department accepted a delivery of fourteen 1 3/4 150gpm combination nozzles, nine 1 1/2 15/16 tip smooth bore nozzles, four 2 1/2 250gpm combination nozzles, four 2 1/2 1 1/8 tip smooth bore nozzles, two BlitzFire Ground Monitors, 120 sections of 50 ft 1 3/4 hose, 130 sections of 50ft 2 1/2 hose, 44 sections of 100ft 4in supply hose, six sections of 50ft 4in supply hose, and five sections of 25ft 4in supply hose.
So far this year the Dresden Volunteer Fire Department has made about 300 runs. The ongoing quest of finding alternative funding to purchase updated equipment helps the department be better prepared to serve the community
