Update from the Frazeysburg Lions Club

The July 2020 to June 2021 year of the Frazeysburg Lions Club has started up with meetings at the Frazeysburg Presbyterian Church. The officers for the year are President Kathy Moran, 1st Vice President Kent Shay, 2nd Vice President Jeff Garver, 3rd Vice President Diana Wolford, Secretary/ Treasurer Dan Osborn, Membership Chairman Charlotte Jenkins, Tail Twister Earl Paazig, and Lion Tamer Bob Hindel.

The club over the summer has contributed money to the Frazeysburg Fireworks Fund, Frazeysburg Village Pool, Local AIM Food Pantry, local group that provided lunches for area youth. Awarded two Tri-Valley High School Seniors scholarships for help with further schooling. The club planted the two beds at both ends of 3rd Street

At the July 16th meeting, Governor Ollie Paxton-Tipple from the Gallipolis Lions Club came and spoke. She talked about her goals for the OH-7 district year on how the clubs can and are serving their communities. She is over 54 Lions Clubs, 1 Lioness Club and 20 Leo Clubs of kids in different schools’ districts. The clubs are from the southeast 17 counties of Ohio. Her slogan is Serving with Kindness. She inducted the officers for the year and gave the following 100% attendance pins for attending meetings and the club projects in the 2019 – 2020 year. Karen Barnhart, Sharon Erickson, Jeff Garver, Bob Hindel, Gerald Howard, Charlotte Jenkins, Kenny Jenkins, Kathy Moran, Dan Osborn, Earl Paazig, Jim Pritchard, Kent Shay, Becky Vansickle and Diane Wolford. Jeff Garver received a 5 year and Bob Hindel a 35 year for that many of years of 100% attendances. PDG Richard Tipple spoke about membership in the OH-7 District. President Kathy has awarded the Lion of the Month sign in July to Kenny Jenkins and In August to Earl Paazig.

Frazeysburg Lions 26th Annual Car Show will be Labor Day, September 7th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm (rain or shine) at the Township Hall in the Village of Frazeysburg (State and 2nd Streets). Cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome to enter. The registration fee is $10.00. Dash plaques will be given to the first 50 entries. Door prize tickets with registration. Extra tickets available in exchange for turning in used eyeglasses. There will be a 50/50 raffle, food by carry out only including sandwiches by FRA and deserts by the Lions Club.
