COVID-19 Update: Aug. 28, 2020
Genesis HealthCare System is modifying its visitation policy during COVID-19 to enable some patients to have expanded visitation. Patients may now have two visitors from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, except for patients in the Emergency Department (ED), where one visitor is allowed. The ED restriction to one visitor is to protect visitors in an area where patients are being evaluated for COVID-19. Children under the age of 18 are not permitted to visit unless there are special circumstances, such as end-of-life situations.
Exceptions will be made for patients at the end of life; disabled patients; and labor and delivery patients. Intermediate Care Nursery and pediatric patients (children age 17 and younger) may have both parents.
All visitors must wear a mask at all times during their visit, and social distancing of at least 6 feet should be practiced at all times.
Patients who are confirmed or suspected to have COVID-19 are not permitted any visitors unless there are special circumstances, such as end-of-life situations. Visitors coming to the facility will go through a screening process. Visitors with fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills and shaking, muscle pain, headache, sore throat or loss of taste and smell will not be allowed to visit unless visiting for an end-of-life circumstance.
Restrictions may also apply at physicians’ offices or other Genesis facilities. Patients should call the office prior to their appointment to find out how many visitors may accompany them.
