Candle Lighting Ceremony for Captain Charles Danny Harlow

submitted

As many of you know, we as a community are hurting. Captain Charles Danny Harlow was close to everyone because of his happiness that always filled the room. No matter what kind of day you were having, if Harlow saw you he would always make the first joke. Everyone loved the way his contagious smile entered a room and the amount of love he put into the community.

In remembrance of Harlow we are planning a candle lighting ceremony on Sunday, September 27th in front of the Dresden Police Department (18 W. 9th St. Dresden, Ohio). The gathering will start at 7:45 PM and the lighting of the candles will be at 8:30 PM followed with a prayer.

We encourage everyone to bring a story or your most memorable moment with Harlow to share with the group before the lighting. The candles are provided by Dan Wells of the Dresden United Methodist Church and are free to attendees. If anyone would like to bring any items such as flowers, memoirs, or etcetera, it is greatly appreciated.

We will be having a few selected speakers throughout the ceremony as well as a slideshow of pictures that Harlow was in. There is no RSVP needed but we do ask that you do not park in front or across from the Dresden Police Department due to department vehicles and handicap accessibility. There is limited parking available behind the municipal building/police department and scattered parking on the street.
