3rd Annual Harvest Arts and Craft Fair Proceeds To Go Towards Preservation of Historic Trinway Mansion

The lawn of Historic Prospect Place was bustling with around two dozen art, craft and food vendors for the 3rd Annual Harvest Arts and Craft Fair. held on Saturday, October 3.

For the past three years, the property of the iconic 29 room mansion built by George Willison Adams (G.W. Adams) in 1856 in Trinway, Ohio has been the site of craft shows which in addition to other fundraising events, has helped to raise money to preserve and renovate the estate. The mansion has quite a history. It was part of the Underground Railroad, has been featured in a couple of supernatural shows due to the building allegedly being haunted, was saved from demolition in 1988 when Dave Longaberger purchased the house and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The building is now owned by the non-profit and volunteer-run G.W. Adams Education Center Inc. and has been in a state of constant renovation. A series of events which have included Flashlight Tours, Easter Egg Hunts, a Halloween Ball, an 1860’s Baseball Game, and of course the popular Harvest Arts and Craft Fair has helped with making those updates and repairs possible.
