The Dawgs Bite Back With Big Win Over John Glenn

After a frustrating loss to MVL Rival Sheridan Generals breaking their perfect season, the Scotties were looking to make a comeback, and they did big time. On Friday, October 2nd at Jack Anderson Stadium in Dresden, the Dawgs faced off against the John Glenn Lil Muskies.

The first quarter of the game seemed like a pretty even matchup between these two MVL rivals with both defenses holding fast until the last 2 minutes of the quarter when #19 Quarterback Aidan Fritter tossed a 4-yard pass to #23 Luke Lyall for a touchdown followed by #18 Coleson McCullough’s point after to put the Scotties on the board at 7 – 0.

Early in the second quarter the Muskies answered back with a touchdown of their own but failed to get the PAT so Tri-Valley still had the lead by 1 at 7 – 6. The Scotties made their drive after the kick payoff as again Fritter came in with a short pass to #24 Luke Hill who punched through the endzone and McCullough’s kick put the Dawgs up 14 to 6 against the Muskies. Determined to keep the game interesting, John Glenn popped in a short pass touchdown with only 3:42 left in the first half of the game to close the gap at TV 14 – JG 13.

After halftime Tri-Valley came out to show just what they could do and 2 and a half minutes into the third quarter Fritter completed a pass to #3 Jalen Goins-Chandler for a 56-yard touchdown padding their lead at 20 – 13. Scottie high scorer #2 Jordan Pantaleo had to put his own numbers on the board with a 29-yard run for pay-dirt and McCullough topped it off to put the Dawgs up 27 – 13 against the Muskies.

A few minutes later Pantaleo put another 37 yards between him and the opponents and pushed through for a touchdown with McCullough’s PAT and just like that the Scotties were up 34 – 13 over John Glenn. Pantaleo finished off the scoring for the night with a 9-yard run and just like before McCullough topped it off to set the final score at 41 – 13.

The Scotties had a total of 303 rushing yards and 228 passing yards against the Muskies more than doubling John Glenn’s numbers on the field and totally dominating the game. The Dawgs start the playoffs on October 9th at the Jack, as they take on Columbus Centennial the winner will move on to face #7 Jackson in the Division III – Region 11 game.
