Anne Miller Signs Letter of Intent With Lake Erie College at The Fieldhouse

Anne Miller has been playing soccer since she was three years old and played for Tri-Valley Youth league soccer at an early age. It wasn’t until she completed tryouts for the Central Ohio Elite Select Soccer Club run by club director Steve Malone, that she really started to love the game.

The daughter of Jerry and Sandra Miller, Anne and her brother Lucas were born in Brazil and adopted by their parents when Anne was just 3 months old. Anne’s parents have always only wanted to give Anne and her brother better opportunities in life than they started out with, and they have done just that.

Anne’s brother Lucas Miller, is currently in his freshmen year at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. Lucas spent 14 years in soccer and was a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Club, and 4-H.

Likewise, Anne is looking forward to a very bright future, as part of the Lady Dawgs Soccer team who just finished up their season with a Sectional Championship Title. On Saturday, November 14th she played as one of the West Team All-Stars in the East vs West playoff where they beat the East district All-Stars 5 – 4. Anne was also selected by the OHSAA as part of the First Team All MVL, and First Team District and is currently serving as the Vice President of her 4-H chapter where she has been a member for 9 years.

“I am excited to watch what Anne will do in her college career. She is a hard worker and has the drive to become the best player that she can and the college game suites this. We will miss her leadership and work ethic for sure, but she provided a great example for the younger players over the past four years,” said Emily Reilly, TVHS Girls Varsity Soccer Coach.

On Wednesday, November 11th, Anne signed a letter of intent at the Fieldhouse in Zanesville to play soccer for the Division II Lake Erie Storm while attending their college in Painesville, Ohio, where she will be studying Biology in a Pre-Med major.

While selecting a school to attend Anne traveled with her parents to several schools throughout the state including Tiffin University and The College of Wooster but landed on Lake Erie College because the school and the soccer staff just felt like home.

Currently Anne takes part in the College Credit Plus program provided by a partnership between the Tri-Valley School district and Zane State College in Zanesville. On top of her current course load, soccer, and 4-H, Anne works part time at the Hallmark Store on Maple Avenue, and the Fieldhouse in Zanesville where the owners have always been supportive of Anne and her brother.

“Anne has always been a go-getter, she sets her mind to something and then she goes and does it,” stated her father Jerry Miller.
