Obituary: Robert D. Lupher

Robert “Bob” or “Doc” Lupher, 92, of Frazeysburg, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, December 13, 2020.

Born April 9, 1928 in Fallsbury Township of Licking County, he was the son of the late Wesley and Annabelle (Rinehart) Lupher and was a 1945 graduate of Union High School. Bob proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was awarded the Silver Star for his service. He retired from Coca-Cola Bottling in Newark where he was the Operations Manager for four Coca-Cola Plants. Bob then spent several years drilling water wells for many residents in the surrounding counties. Bob was a member of Perry Chapel Baptist Church of Warsaw. He enjoyed hunting, trapping, gardening, woodworking, playing horseshoes and joking around with family and friends.

Surviving are three sons, Robert “Bobby” Lupher, Jr. of Frazeysburg, Wesley “Bud” (Marsha) Lupher of Nashport, and Wayne (Christina) Lupher of Frazeysburg; one daughter, Mary (Jerry) Farmer of Zanesville; twelve grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Carol (Sarchet) Lupher whom he married June 12, 1954 and who died June 16, 2010; two brothers, Miles “Tad” Lupher and William “Bill” Lupher; a sister, Shirley Fowls; two brothers-in-law, Blaine Fowls and James Sarchet. Three sisters-in-law, Barb Lupher, Josephine Sarchet and Deanna Sarchet; two nieces, Christina (Fowls) White and Karen (Lupher) Rich and a nephew, David Fowls.

Private graveside funeral services will be conducted at Perry Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

A memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at Perry Chapel Baptist Church when it is safe to do so.
