Nellie Maxine Bates, 76, passed on to be with her loved ones on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.
Born March 22, 1944 in New Brunswick, NJ a daughter of the late Frances Marie (MacDonald) Zogg and the late Frank F. Ladd. She worked at the Longaberger Company in Dresden, Ohio for 23 years and after retiring she spent lots of quality time with her kids, grandkids and her favorite cats, Sophie and Alley. She really enjoyed drinking coffee, smoking cigarettes, shopping and spending time with her family. She was quite the character always laughing, smiling, cracking jokes and being witty. She was a very down to earth person, gave spectacular sage advice and loved giving you the finger, lol. If you are out and about and see something that might look like it’s a flipping you off, such as a cloud or a tree; please think of Nellie!
She is survived by her three children; Brooke Roberts of Zanesville, Dighton Daniel Bates Jr. of Dresden and Brea (Randy) Wade II of Dresden; a special Ex son-in-law, Randy Roberts of Dresden; along with her very loving grandchildren, Kevin Roberts, Mackenzie Moyer, Randy Wade III, Ian Wade and Preston Eppley; two great-grandchildren, Kheenan and Kamaari Brandford; a sister, Anne (Roy) Leiser and many very special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her partner of 20 years, Dale Martin; three sisters, Mary Chapman, Shirley Catlett and Francis Kelley and a brother, Herbert Ladd.
She will be missed dearly by everyone. She was so well-loved and will forever be loved. She will be cremated with no services and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
