Dresden Volunteer Fire Department’s 17-year-old ambulance is being replaced with a new 2020 Ford F550 4×4. The new ambulance is from PL Custom Emergency Vehicles sold by Finley Fire/Atlantic Emergency Solutions. Although this 2020 model is very similar to the 2014 PL Custom ambulance that the department uses currently, Medic 209 has some new features that are not on any of the department’s previous vehicles. Four-wheel drive, a power cot, and power load system are among those features. “We plan on placing the truck in service at the beginning of February after some final equipment is installed,” stated Captain Matt Salmons.
