Lady Dawgs Finish Regular Season With A Duo Of Conference Wins

The Lady Scotties took on Philo at Coach Rich Longaberger court on Saturday, February 6th. They beat the Lady Electrics earlier in the season at a score of 45 – 22 so the Tri-Valley girls were looking for a repeat on Saturday and it was kind of a weight and measure of how much the girls have improved over the season as they lead at every turn and finished the game with almost a twenty point gain from the previous game at 64 – 25.

The first quarter was a blaze for Philo as the Lady Scotties came out burning up the court taking a heavy lead with 25 – 6 heading into the second quarter. They didn’t slow down at all in the second quarter as they held Philo to just another 5 points as they put up another 12 of their own sending Philo to the locker rooms with their heads down and a 37 – 11 deficit.

The second half of the game was just as rough with the Lady dawgs piling on another 27 points before the end of the game and putting the match to bed with a 64 – 25 win and an increase to 7-2 in the MVL and 15 – 3 Overall.

Unlike the Philo game, Monday’s contest was with an unseen competitor as the Morgan game was canceled at the beginning of the season. On February 8th, the Lady Raiders came to the Dawg House and tried to take one from the Lady Dawgs, but the Tri-Valley girls weren’t about to lay down.

The first quarter of the game was a tight challenge, but the Scotties were up for it and put up almost double the points as the Lady Raiders with a 17 – 9 lead at the end of the first quarter. #3 Lexi Howe and #24 Anna Krupa topped the scoring for the quarter.

As the second quarter opened up, the Lady Raiders tried to regain their composure by getting more points on the board but they just could not catch the Lady Dawgs as they pushed forward with a 30 – 21 lead going into halftime.

The locker room break didn’t slow down Tri-Valley, the came back to the court with just as much fire as they had when the game started punishing the Morgan girls at every layup and rebound #3 Lexi Howe and #11 Riley Tracy made sure they kept the scoreboard lit bringing the lead up to 49 – 34 going into the final quarter.

Morgan wasn’t giving up in the 4th quarter but building back from a 15 point gap isn’t easy especially against Tri-Valley girls, in the end they struggled to get the lead dwindled down to just 11 points but the Lady Dawgs finished strong with a 58 – 47 win and increased their MVL standings to 8 – 2 with their overall going to 16 – 3.

The Lady Dawgs were seeded #1 for the playoffs this season so they will be facing off with Beaver Local on Saturday, February 20th, at Coach Rich Longaberger court in Dresden.
