On Wednesday, February 10th, at the Coach Rich Longaberger court in Dresden, John Glenn Lil’ Muskies came to try and get a win from the rival Tri-Valley team. Almost like a repeat from earlier in the season the Dawgs were able to hold them off and come out on top with a 56 – 38 win and one game away from tying up the MVL title with Sheridan.
The Lil’ Muskies started off giving the Scotties a run for their money going shot for shot in the first quarter and holding back defensively to keep the Dawgs to just 10 points in the first round while they put up 9.
The second quarter of the game was just as even on both sides of the court as John Glenn fought to regain some of their standing in the MVL over the Dawgs who had handily beat them earlier in the season. Despite a pair of treys from the Scotties in the second quarter the two teams went into the locker rooms with a tie at 22 points each.
After half-time intermission the Dawgs hit the court harder than before and started to push past the tiring Lil’ Muskie defense as they gained momentum on the game that up until now had been a draw. With a pair of treys from #5 Ty Smith and one at the buzzer for #20 Aaron Frueh the Scotties pulled ahead with a 39 – 31 lead over John Glenn heading into the 4th.
The fourth quarter brought on a barrage of points from #21 Jacob Frueh who had an impressive 10 points in the quarter out of the 17 points that the Scotties piled on the Lil’ Muskies who could only muster another 7 total points as the Dawgs pulled away to end the game with a substantial 56 – 38 point win.
