Jeremy M. Brennen, 42, of Dresden, Ohio died Thursday evening, February 25, 2021 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born September 2, 1978 in Zanesville, Ohio he was the son of Judy (Richard) Goetz and the late Michael Brennen and was a 1996 graduate of Tri-Valley High School. He received his associate degree from MATC and his bachelor’s degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene University then worked in accounting for several area businesses.
Jeremy was extremely active in the community and Protestant by faith. In his youth, he was a long-time member of 4-H, active in the Dresden United Methodist Church Youth Group and in the TVHS German Club. Jeremy was a wonderful, but reluctant piano player. As an adult and proud dad, he helped coach youth baseball, basketball, and was the “Commissioner” for Tri-Valley Youth flag football. He was an avid sports fan, and loved going on family vacations. Jeremy was an Ebay junkie and enjoyed catfishing with his friends, Kevin Hindel, Jason Rollison, and Nat Schneider.
Surviving is his loving wife of 17 years, Stephanie (Hardesty) Brennen whom he married July 5, 2003; two sons, Kyler M. and Cooper A. Brennen of the home; his mother, Judy (Richard) Goetz of Dresden; a brother, Jerod (Cori) Brennen of South Charleston, OH; a sister, Jessica (Alan) Wallar of Sunbury, OH; a step-brother, Bob Goetz of Hartford, CT; a step-sister, Tracy (Darryl) Watson of Dresden; mother-in-law, Rhonda (Bruce) Kurtz; father-in-law, Jerry (Jackie) Hardesty; two brothers-in-law, Brandon (Sara) Hardesty and Derek (Jill) McInerney; grandparents, Maureen Allen and Mary Lou Hardesty; nieces and nephews, Craig, Michael, Joel, Sam, Kaylynn, Allison, Hailey, Aydan, Reagan and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Michael Brennen and grandparents, Marjorie Brennen, Jack Allen, and Dorotha Priest.

Calling hours will be 2pm to 8pm Monday, March 1, 2021 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street. The family asks that you wear your favorite team apparel.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at the funeral home with Pastor Jason Watson officiating.
Jeremy will be laid to rest at Dresden Cemetery
